Folliculitis: Sounds like folliculitis, and infection of hair follicles. You can get ingrown hairs which need to be carefully removed, and using proper antiseptic technique to avoid worsening infection. This can become a more serious infection if it spreads or involves a bad bacteria. You should get that checked out as you might need antibiotics. Lymph nodes can get swollen pretty easily though.

Folliculitis: Sounds like you have developed an infection of the hair follicles, either from bacteria on your skin during shaving or from a dirty razor. If lymph nodes already involved, the infection is trying to spread. Need to see your doctor tomorrow to see if you need oral antibiotics or if you can just get away with local topical care. But it needs to be looked at to evaluate that - go ASAP to doc!

See answer : Most likely, you have developed "folliculitis": infection of hair follicles brought about by skin bacteria (usually staph) getting into the deeper recesses of skin and lymph nodes from shaving. Depending on severity, treatment includes: antibacterial skin wash using benzoyl peroxide, chlorhexidine, or Phisoderm twice a day; topical and possible oral antibiotics. If not better in 24-48 hrs, call MD

Oral antibiotics: Since your lymph nodes are already involved, you should try to see your doctor or an urgent care center in the next day or two to get a prescription for oral antibiotics. In the mean time, you need to stop shaving the area for a few days.Wash the area with an antibacterial wash and apply antibacterial ointment twice a day.
