Cold and distraction: It can be hard to get a vaccine - it hurt for a few seconds. But you are doing a great thing to keep yourself protected from illness! Bring a cold pack to your appointment and place it on the area where the vaccine will go for a few minutes - this will help numb the area. Also, have your parent place gentle pressure on the area after the shot. You can also bring headphones & listen to a song!
