See below: Most diets are like holdng your breath. Eventually you have to breath. If you deprive yourself by dieting, binging often follows. Better to reduce your portion size of most of your foods (except non starchy veggies) and allow yourself small portions of the foods that you crave perhaps once or twice a week. That way you will lose weight and not destroy your efforts by binging.
