Basilar Skull fxr: The classic signs of a basilar skull fracture include "raccoon eyes" and "battle's sign". Raccoon eyes = dark discoloration around the eyes that, well, gives a raccoon like appearance. Battle's sign is a hematoma (bruising and bulge) behind the ear. Other signs include bloody drainage from the ear with or without cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage from the ear.
