Yes: Often these problems can be controlled with medication. If that doesn't work, then evaluation for possible surgery is appropriate. However, in either case there is a real possibility that you can lead a normal, productive life.

Within reason: To enhance control, there are >20 different anti-epileptic meds available. Surgery may be useful, and a Vagal Nerve Stimulator unit could help. But if you have uncontrolled seizures, you cannot drive, operate power equipment, do activities at heights, swim or take a bath alone.
