A member asked:

What happens if a pregnant woman has a vitamin d definciency, will her baby have an underdeveloped skeletal system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Take vitamin D: Hi. Why doesn't the pregnant woman just take enough vitamin D??? And no, the fetal skeleton will recover fine once it gets enough vitamin D, so in the long run, the child's skeleton will be fine with adequate vitamin D and calcium.
