Too young: There are no medications which are approved for cough and cold symptoms in children under the age of 2 years. Cough in an infant can be due to virus, wheezing, reflux, pertussis, or other serious conditions which are treatable by your pediatrician. Using a humidifier may help a little while you are waiting for your appointment.
