Treatment plan: First, appropriate staging should be done (biopsy, imaging). Second, based off of the stage, treatment options should be presented to him. Early stage lung cancer can be cured with either surgery or stereotactic radiosurgery (if nonoperable). With more advanced lung cancer, it may require chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. If disease is widespread, stage IV, chemotherapy is main treatment.
