Nosebleeds: Epistaxis, or nosebleed, is a common problem. There can be lots of causes, but usually they are due to some combination of a prominent blood vessel close to the surface of the nasal lining, dry air, and/or minor trauma/picking. Most nosebleeds (90%) occur from a small vessel in the front of the nasal cavity, usually on the septum. Your doctor can help pinpoint the specific cause in your case.
