A member asked:

What do you suggest if my doctor prescribed me oral testosterone 10 mg?

Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Avoid oral T: Given an option, it's best to avoid oral testosterone as this form can increase one's risk for peliosis hepatis (http://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/hepatic_and_biliary_disorders/vascular_disorders_of_the_liver/peliosis_hepatis.html). Non-oral forms such as AndroDerm, AndroGel, Axiron, Fortesta, Striant & Testim are much less likely to do so. All other side effects are the same.
