A doctor has prescribed 0.5 mg arimidex 2x/week for low testosterone.e2 is 24 pg/ml and total t is 199ng/dl. could it work? on clomid (clomiphene) e2 was 66 pg/ml

Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Maybe (not): Clomid (clomiphene) is used off-label to stimulate Testosterone production in hypogonadal men who want to maintain fertility (or by infertile men who hope to gain fertility). However, T is also converted into DHT & E2. Stopping conversion sometimes increases T. But it also sometimes diverts conversion to other. That's why Finateride & Dutasteride to inhibit DHT can increase E2 w/side effects.
