A member asked:

Help! is "respiratory paralysis" in patients violent or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps: If inability to breathe occurs suddenly such as an anaphylactic reaction, or trauma, violent agitation could ensue, as long as patient was alert at time of event. Some more gradual apneas secondary to medication such as opioid overdose would cause possible coma first.
