Varies: There are many possible causes of low back pain, including muscle sprain/strain, soft tissue inflammation, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, nerve impingement, etc. For an otherwise healthy active bicyclist, it would be reasonable to try adjusting your body mechanics when going up hill, and use NSAIDs as needed. See a physician if symptoms persist.
