Yes: There are times when a parent has to be a parent and not your child's friend. You observe a change in your daughter - it is your obligation to have her checked out. She could be ill, depressed, using drugs, or just fine and being a teenager. But that is not for you or her to decide - that's why you have a doctor for her.
