A member asked:

Occasional atypical lymphocytes present, & normochromic rbc's, along with ldh of 280 (normal high is 237) and swollen mediastinal lymphnodes, history asthma only, w/ chronic hives, what's this point 2?

Nothing clearcut: Atypical Lymphocytes alone do not help us make any specific diagnosis. An isolated LDH elevation may be due to a lab error or due to a difficult blood draw which can damage red cells. It is best to repeat the CBC and LDH level one more time to check if it is real or not. Your doctor can guide you further.

Depends: These results can bee found if you are recovering from illness. Since you have a history of asthma with chronic hives, these findings can also be reactive to hypersensitivity. You should be monitored by repeat labs to see if these changes resolve with time. Follow with your PCP.
