Stye: If it's the eyelid that is sore, you might have something called a stye, or chalazeon, or at least the beginning of one. If treated early with lots of warm compresses, these can resolve within a few days. If that doesn't help, or if the lid gets more sore, red, or if the swelling spreads you might have cellulitis, a much more serious infection that might require antibiotics. See your eye doctor
