Mirena (levonorgestrel) + UTI: Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD can explain your blood sotting rather than a regular menstrual period. Young women who are sexually active are prone to getting UTIs. Risk of UTI can be reduced y emptying your bladder after sex. Some young women get UTIS after sex, in spite of urinating after sex, & require an antibiotic such as Macrodantin. This can prevent UTIs. Your body is most likely OK
