A member asked:

I've been on the same birth control for 5 years and i've always had a 4-5 day period. it was only 1 day long this month, could i be pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It's always possible that birth control can fail. Having said that, there's no harm in checking a pregnancy test. They are relatively inexpensive and accurate. It is unlikely if you haven't missed any pills, but even perfect use of birth control pills is going to have a 4-6% pregnancy rate over course of 1 year of use. If don't want to be pregnant, consider condoms and birth control. Good luck
