Probably mucus: Possible reasons for gas and mucus include lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance, irritable bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or food allergies. First try a lactose-free, gluten-free, bean (including soy)-free diet for three days. If the problem persists, then ask your doctor for further evaluation.
