Menopause/prolapse: At 46, women are either in menopause or peri-menopause. It is common for periods to become less frequent until they stop. You can have blood work done to check your hormone levels to see how far into menopause you are. The painful pressure you are feeling in your vagina sounds like it could be uterine prolapse. Women with multiple vaginal births and post menopausal women are at the highest risk
