Arthritis: Degenerative joint disease or DJD is just another way to say osteoarthritis which is the most common form of arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a less common form but can be even more debilitating & deforming, while osteoarthritis is just painful. Anti-inflammatories such as your Advil (ibuprofen) are a good start. Acetaminophen is used too as it doesn't affect stomach or kidneys, unlike NSAIDs.
