All medicine has : side effects, but when placed on a medicine the benefit outweighs the risk. If you are taking this medication orally and you think you are having symptoms that are side effects then tell the doctor who prescribed it what new symptom you have. If you take it IV then you can speak with the medical person infusing it about symptoms and possible evaluation.

GERD: This is the generic for 'Nexium', usually used to treat GERD, which is often from hiatal hernia.. This medication helps to reduce acids, which can cause ulcers or barrett's esophagus (a pre-cancerous condition). A month or more is not uncommon. Ask your dr for guidelines on monitoring side-effects if they develop.
