Tonsil swelling: Tonsils may swell because of drainage from the nose. Tonsils are the "glands" that process bacteria from nose/sinuses. Try clearing the postnasal drip. see www.grossaninstitute.com for suggestions.

May be normal: The palatine tonsils (tonsils in the back of the throat) are a part of the mucosal immune system and are composed of many million lymphocytes. They act as a first line of defense against bacteria, virus and fungus. In attempting to protect you they may sometimes become enlarged, especially, in the presence of an acute infection. If the tissue is not painful, do not be concerned.
