Yes: Pinkeye is the common term for conjunctivitis, which is an infection of the eye surface. Caused by viruses or bacteria. Viral is more common, affects both eyes, and usually redness and discharge are mild (allergy can also do this). Bacterial usually affects one eye (at least at first), and more pronounced redness and discharge (antibiotic drops will help that). Neither is painful. Exam suggested.
