Normal: A low ferritin suggests iron deficiency. A high ferritin has NO meaning. There are many tests in medicine like this.

Excess iron : is not normal, especially in a male. it may be an indication of hemochromatosis and other disorders associated with high serum ferritin, such as liver disease. The genetic abnormality responsible for hemochromatosis is one of the commonest inherited disorder in Caucasians. See this site and consult your doctor, high ferritin is not harmless. http://highferritin.imppc.org/hiperferritin.php?lang=en
