What does it mean when a 1cm lung nodule has "small density" , does that point toward cancer? or benign?

Small density.: A 1 cm nodule is a small density. Most likely this is benign finding but additional info about appearance and history/ physical exam are important. Are you a smoker? What prompted the X-ray or CT? A 3 month follow-up film is likely needed if this is a new radiological finding. Talk to your doctor. Best wishes.

Just a description : The density alone is not characteristic of a specific disease but, when used with other features of the radiologic lung image, can be suggestive of a disease or a category of lung disease. Interpretation of lung density requires knowledge of lung anatomy and clinical features of a person’s lung disease. The term lung density is also used to describe a specific anatomic view.
