IF: menstrual blood is black - don't worry. That just means that old blood is being cleaned from the uterus. If your bowel movement is black - that might be from taking peptobismol or iron. However since you take motrin and are suffering from abdominal pain - it would be important to ensure that it is not due to blood. Black, tarry, malodorous stool can be related to GI bleeding.
