No such thing: There is no such thing as an "overactive" liver. The liver works 24 hours a day to clear toxins, make proteins, package nutrients that come to it from the intestine. It can be the target of various injurious agents, in particular, alcohol, excessive fat, viral hepatitis, drugs, altered immune system. The manifestation of this can be elevated liver tests. If this is the case, see a liver MD ASAP
