Wait and watch: Polyps can be benign or cancerous. Larger size, higher counts, and the "flatter" shape are more suggestive of cancerous origins. The only way to know for sure is by having a pathologist look at the tissue sample under a microscope. Remain calm and positive. Do not assume anything until you get the official results. Polyp Removal: You don't say where the polyps are that you are going to have removed. I am guessing they are colon polyps, but they could be in other locations. It should not be unusually serious, especially as long as you don't have medical problems.

Polyps: Best to have polyps removed before sent for pathology. Adenomatous polyps left unchecked can advance to a cancer.
