Dog allergy: All dogs are 'allergenic' since they all have dander (which can be found in the skin, urine and saliva). There are some breeds however that are less allergenic (hypoallergenic). These include poodles, shi tzus, yorkshire terriers, malteses, bichons, haveneses and some others. However, just because a dog is hypoallergenic does not mean an allergy sufferer will not have symptoms.

Yes: The hypoallergenic dog is a myth but the less the dog drools and the smaller the dog is, the less amount of allergens would be produced. The best answer would be no dog however antiallergy medication may also prevent the symptoms although not the ideal solution. Allergy shots can be highly effective but will take several months to work Talk to your allergist about it.
