Period: Although pregnancy is the most common reason for a missed period, it is far from the only one. Other reasons can include weight changes, stress, medications, endocrine problems, illness, excessive exercise, travel, drugs, and many more. Many doctors will give a 'free pass' to the first missed period and not start a workup until a second one is skipped.
