Veins in Palms?: Veins near skin; arteries deeper. Subcutaneous fat around veins tends to mask vein color. With less subcutaneous fat & especially more use of muscles (thus more blood flow to muscles & back through veins). the veins become easier to see & somewhat larger. Skin capillaries dilate to remove heat applied to skin, thus ↑ed flow veins. Your observations are c/w what would be expected, in general.
