Sometimes: Problem is tha clusters generaly are too frequent and long-lasting to respond to a triptian. There are geneally better treatments with an emphasis on prevention as much as possible.

Different headaches: Cluster headache and migraine headache are two differnt types of headache brought on by different mechanisms. Injectable sumatriptan has been shoown to be effective for some cluster headache patients.
