A member asked:

What are the safety issues regarding wearing nylon stockings?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

For firefighters...: Seems somewhere i saw this asked in relation to being a firefighter. Synthetics should not be worn under turnout gear as they can melt at high temperatures and often do not breathe as well as cotton or a blend. In high temperature situations if the material next to the skin does not breathe sweat can build up and become steam and burn the skin...If this doesn't answer question, be more specific.
