I have had a painless lymph node behind my ear for 2 months (5 mm). i consulted my doc. who says that when smaller than 2 cm its harmless. i haven't felt ill at any time. no other sympt. yet, i worry?

No need to worry: Your doctor is correct. A small single painless lymph node should be nothing to worry about. Monitor it's size. If it enlarges or becomes painful or if other lymph nodes develop you should have your physician re-evaluate your condition.

Lymph node: While it is most likely benign or reactive if it persists please have a thorough head and neck exam by a board certified otolaryngologist (ENT).
