A member asked:

What's chronic strep throat and the consequences for my kid?

Confusing question: I know of no "chronic strep condition" that affects kids. A kid or adult can be an asymptomatic carrier of strep for their lifetime, and have few if any consequences. A real problem exists when these "carriers" come in with mono or other non strep infection and only a strep test is run, because it will be positive.Blood tests can verify a sore throat was really strep, but these are rarely done.
