A member asked:

What are the risks of converting a failed in tact partial nissen fundoplication -wasn't done tight enough- to a full fundoplication? thanks

Riskier than before: Redo stomach operations are more risky for injury to the stomach and esophagus, and vagus nerves. There is also a risk that the operation doesn't work to solve your problem. A "failed" operation can mean many things. Make sure you are in a center with extensive experience with redo foregut surgery - laparoscopic & open, and make sure everyone has the same goals. Hope this helps!
