Tell prescribing doc: Extra-Pyramidal reactions like Akathisa are an unfortunate but common side effect of a lot of psychiatric medications. You need to speak to your prescribing psychiatrist and let them know your situation and the effect of Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Your doctor will be well aware of these side effects and can formulate a different treatment plan going forward.
