First, a doctor: MR is not always needed. First, I would see an orthopedic surgeon who deals with the foot & ankle or see a podiatrist. He or she will determine if imaging is needed. If no X-ray has been done, then X-ray will most likely be first to look at the bones and joints. If more information is needed, then MR.
