Indirectly.: A decreased blood pressure, if it is associated with a decreased flow, may increase the risk of blood clotting. High blood pressure is frequently associated with increased flow and therefore less pooling of blood, and less clot formation. Most blood clots occur in the calf muscles, so long car rides or airplane rides should include walking breaks or calf muscle movement.
