OTC Lamisil (terbinafine): Without a prescription, i would recommend lamisil, (terbinafine) however, it can still take a week or more of treatment. If that does not work, or it is widespread, you may need prescription medication. Of course, you should be sure that you are treating ringworm and not some other rash or infection. Proper treatment requires a proper diadnosis.

Agree with Dr. E: If the OTC drugs do not work in a week or so, it would be prudent to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
