No: Dental implants are titanium root replacements for your natural teeth. Scientific studies dating back over 50 years show titanium to be a wonderfully biocompatible material that bone cells actually migrate and attach. Titanium is used for numerous other types of bone repair. Your lose of taste might be totally different issue. I'd suggest an allergy specialist!

It shouldn't : The implant is buried in your bone and not effect your taste buds Can you be allergic to the implant? Yes it is possible. Implants , the better ones are made from commercially pure titanium but the others are made from a titanium alloyiv y which means there are other metals involved Talk to the dentist who placed the implant

Unlikely: The implants themselves should not affect your taste sensation. Are these implants in your maxillary arch, and are they supporting a removable denture? The denture may affect the way you "taste" food if it covers your palate. Speak to your dentist.

Dental implants: Dental implants to not affect any of the senses regarding taste. If you suffer from lack of taste, speak to your dentist and physician. If you are contemplating replacing teeth with dental implants know that when done properly by competent dentists they are the best alternative to natural healthy teeth.

Likely not: In 35 years of practice, never heard or read of this occurring. Typical implant placement sites do not go near the areas which provide these. I would suggest seeing an Oral Medicine specialist if these things have occurred. Further references might follow from there. Good Luck.

Definitely, no: Dysgeusia is a change in your sense of taste due to a variety of causes; from anxiety to dental problems, medications and treatments or simple seasonal flu. See your PCP for consultation and tests.
