Yes, potential: cerebrovascular event at a rate of 1 per 1,000 patients. Do not use sumatriptan if you feel sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body. In general patients with migraine may be at increased risk of certain cerebrovascular events. An injection of sumatriptan has also been shown to be extremely effective by completely terminating an attack in 74% of patients in 5 minutes.
