WELL,...: That is a discussion to be made between you and the surgeon. Once you had an appendicitis attack and "lived" to tell about it, there is always the chance you may have future attacks, and if you are not near the hospital (out camping for example), you may not be so lucky, so some may opt to have it removed now while at the right place at the right time.
