What would happen if a child aspirated a sunflower seed?

It depends...: If the child choked on it but it went into the esophagus and down to the stomach, no problem. But if the child truly aspirated it, meaning it went down the trachea and into the lungs it would be a potential source of inflammation, and irritation with the potential for infection and abcess formation.
