A member asked:

If i have a child with a trach, is it necessary to monitor them with an oxygen sat monitor overnite? i rarely have overnite nurse & i try 2 sleep some

Yes: A trach tube could become plugged and you would want to know if your child needs suctioning or other care. A pulse oximeter is an easy, non-invasive way to do that.
