Elephantiasis: Elephantiasis (massive swelling of body part(s)) can be caused by a number of things. Its basically a disruption of the lymphatic system in that body part. The swelling can be so bad as to cause tissue breakdown and localized lymph leakage. In that sense its 'normal' for the disease but very abnormal for the person. It can be caused by worms (Lymphatic filariasis). see a specialist.

Elephantiasis: If she is severely swollen and edematous it can be normal for her condition, but should still be evaluated and treated so tit improves. Call the Treating doc, best wishes.

No: Elephantiasis? It sounds like she has severe lymph edema, which can cause severe disfiguring swelling of the legs. She should talk to her doctor about using compression(wraps, stockings, circaid devices) which will help decrease the swelling and, therefore, the leaking fluid.
