A member asked:

Total bilirubin on first lab was 1.6- direct was .03 and indirect was 1.3. had these done a week later 1.2 total, .09 indirect and .03 direct?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both okay: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your bilirubin levels are normal. The variation may be due to biological variation, change in method and random variability in test results.
