Varies..: In general, if gentle, careful, use plenty of lubrication and lots of foreplay, loss of virginity should not be excessively painful. The hymen does not heal up. It just tears and disappears. Healing usually takes about a week, but depends on how much injury (if any) there was and whether you continue to irritate the area with continued sexual activity.
