Always: A chance, if you have placenta previa, which I believe you describe please follow the advice of your OB because this can be a dangerous situation, but not always! Don't give up, just be careful!

It depends: Miscarriage, strictly speaking, is an early pregnancy loss, which is not related to a low lying placenta. Most miscarriages are related to problems with the development of the pregnancy itself. Low lying placenta is common in early pregnancy and often will move as the uterus grows. If it persists, it can cause complications later in pregnancy. A follow up ultrasound should be done at 30 weeks.
